Attorney Marina Modlin helps clients to accumulate wealth and preserve wealth for future generations. Her firm, Modlin Legal, focuses exclusively on drafting complete new estate plans, reviewing and updating exiting wills and trusts, post-death administration including probate, and trust administration.
Ms. Modlin immigrated to the San Francisco Bay Area from Saint Petersburg, Russia. She earned a B.A. from the University of California at Davis, and a J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law. As a law student, Ms. Modlin represented defendants at the San Francisco Office of the Public Defender, assisted the in-house legal department of Yahoo!, Inc. and drafted proposed court orders for judges of the United States District Court of the Northern District of California. Ms. Modlin served as Vice President of the Jewish Law Student Association and as Staff Editor for the Journal of Law and Social Challenges. She was honored twice with the prestigious Law Merit Scholarship.
Immediately after graduating from law school, Ms. Modlin spent two years working as a freelance attorney – an attorney who helps other attorneys with their workload on a project basis. In 2011, she published The Independence Track: How To Succeed As A Freelance Attorney, where she shared her freelance practice building expertise. She is a frequent speaker at the Santa Clara University School of Law, and many Bay Area Bar Associations and law schools.
Ms. Modlin began her full-time estate planning and administration practice in January 2010. In addition to helping her clients with their wills and trusts needs, Ms. Modlin gives seminars on the topic, and has been interviewed for estate planning articles featured on CNBC, Market Watch, and other news sources.
