Estate Planning For Pets

This weekend is the Humane Society of Silicon Valley’s “Walk ’n Wag” event. It’s a great chance for pet owners to get out and meet others that share the same passion—and a chance for your dogs to do the same!

Modlin Legal will be there to explain how to best protect your furry friends should something happen to their people. Many owners, understandably, want to ensure that their pets are cared for after they are no longer able. Unfortunately, pets can’t legally inherit property, so a creative approach is necessary.

We hear about the rich and famous establishing trusts for their pets. Yes, that is an option, but is generally out of reach for most people. However, the good news is that a more affordable solution exists, one that will take care of your pets, and kids, and property simultaneously.

"Marina helped me create my living trust and my powers-of-attorney. The entire process was quick, effortless, and affordable. Marina is very knowledgeable and efficient. Within a couple of weeks from our first meeting everything was finished, even handling my out-of-state property. I recommend Marina highly."
